New Haven launches 100-day project addressing ending chronic homelessness

In April, the providers of Opening Doors-New Haven will launch a 100-Day initiative to kick-start their Coordinated Access system and to make strides toward ending chronic homelessness.

Alison Cunningham, executive director of Columbus House, and John Bradley, executive director of Liberty Community Services, are coordinating this effort, which has support from the Rapid Results Institute (RRI). The coaches at Rapid Results Institute have launched a number of these 100-day projects across the country – both as part of the 100,000 Homes Campaign, and as part of work with the Veterans Administration in the national effort to end veteran homelessness – helping communities increase their pace of housing placement.

The 100-day approach allows the case managers and others working closest to clients to use their knowledge of existing systems and client needs to build and pilot a Coordinated Access system that will help clients access housing and other critical resources more quickly and efficiently.
