Free Breast and Cervical Cancer Screenings

The Hospital of Saint Raphael, in conjunction with the Connecticut Department of Public Health, has introduced the Connecticut Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (CBCCEDP). This program offers:

  • Information about finding breast and cervical cancer early
  • Clinical breast exams
  • Mammograms
  • Pap tests and pelvic exams
  • Other diagnostic services

YOU MAY QUALIFY IF

  • You meet the low income guidelines; and
  • You are between 40 and 64 years old (for mammograms) and 19 and 64 years old (for clinical breast exams and pap tests); and
  • You have no health insurance; or

Your insurance does not cover these services or

Have a high insurance deductible ($1,000 or more)

FREE CARDIOVASCULAR SCREENING WISEWOMAN PROGRAM

Women who are 40 years old and older and who are enrolled in the CBCCEDP may also be eligible to participate in WISEWOMAN – a program that offers free blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar screening. The goal of the program is to help reduce a woman’s risk of future blood pressure problems, heart disease and diabetes.

FREE COLORECTAL SCREENING

In addition to the above mentioned services, women who are 50 or older and enrolled in CBCCEDP may also be eligible to receive colorectal screening  services free of charge.
